Next Meeting: Thursday 13th September 2018
Our season’s meetings have come to an end for the summer, but we will be launching our autumn program soon, so check back for further details. In the meantime, continue reading to hear about our recent activities during the first half of 2018.
“Looking to the summer“
Our regular Women’s Association meetings are back, and we look forward to seeing you at our Thursday events and Saturday Coffee Mornings over the coming months
The Christmas season for the Women’s Association began with a Floral Art demonstration. We enjoyed it and it gave us a chance to help out our hard working committee. Unfortunately the weather was not so helpful and the first Coffee morning was on a very icy Saturday. The season ended with our now usual Burns Lunch; lunchtime might sound a bit unusual, but ever since the time when our evening Burns meeting was cancelled through bad weather, we have enjoyed the fellowship and of course the Scotch Broth, haggis etc. at midday instead of a dark evening.
Our annual Shoebox appeal, collecting for Blythswood Care was a great success this year again, with 72 shoeboxes jammed full of gifts for being donated. These were given to Blythswood Care who distributed them to orphans and needy children in poverty stricken parts of Eastern Europe.
