Announcements from the Sunday Service

Coming up :

heroesMonday 13th Feb – Heroes.  Wilson Memorial Church at 7:15pm.  We are delighted to be hosting an evening with Adrian Plass and the Searchlight Theatre Co.  More details and how to buy tickets can be found on our dedicated event post by clicking this link.

Saturday 18th Feb – Men’s breakfast.  Morrison’s Supermarket Café, Portobello Road, at 8:30am.  Once again the gents from Wilson Memorial head off to the supermarket, not to get the groceries but to indulge in a tasty breakfast instead.  Come along, join us, for some fellowship and a great start to the weekend.  There’s a super selection on offer, from small portions and healthier options all the way through to the traditional Big Scottish Breakfast.

Monday 27th Feb – AGM.  Wilson Memorial Church Hall at 7:30pm.  The Annual General Meeting will hear reports of the year from all organisations, and will vote to approve the 2016 financial statements.  All able members are requested to attend this important business meeting.  Copies of the minutes from last years AGM, and this years financial report, are now available in the church.

It just happened :

Friday 10th Feb – Video Games Challenge.  Our Church School gamers saw off all challengers (In reality, parents didn’t get a chance to play, as children dominated control of the games).  The games were projected onto a big screen, and everyone had a lot of fun.  Definitely an event to add to next years calendar.

Saturday 11th Feb – Coffee Morning.  A big thank-you to everyone who came along to support the Women’s Association fundraising coffee morning, on a cold wet winters day.  We are pleased to announce that £197 was raised.

Sunday 12th Feb – Moderator’s visit. revritchie Rev Alex Ritchie, the Moderator of the United Free Church of Scotland was guest preacher at our service today.  After a warm welcome and introduction by our own minister Rev Mike Marsden, Rev Ritchie brought Wilson Memorial a message of greetings and encouragement from the General Assembly and the denomination.  Rev Ritchie then proceeded to take the service, first with a talk to the children, followed by the main sermon.  After the service, Rev Ritchie took a group photograph of the congregation, to publish on the Erskine Burntisland United Free Church of Scotland facebook page.

Todays hymns were :

  1. Ye servants of God (Mission Praise 784)
  2. You’re the word of God the father (Mission Praise 1141)
  3. I stand amazed in the presence (Mission Praise 296)
  4. In Christ alone my hope is found (Mission Praise 1072)
