Playlist for life has benefited from a donation of £520, as the recipient of the Wilson Memorial Church Christmas charity donations. Every year Wilson Memorial Church nominates a Scottish charity and donates the offerings from both the Christmas Carols Service and the Christmas Eve Watchnight Service. For 2016, the Board of Wilson Memorial Church decided to make Playlist for Life the sole beneficiary of the donations collected.
Playlist for Life is working to bring the benefits of personally meaningful music in dementia care to as many people as possible, wherever they may be in the UK.
Sally Magnusson founded Playlist for Life in 2013, after being impressed by the effect of personally meaningful music on her late mother’s dementia and then researching the evidence for her memoir Where Memories Go: Why dementia changes everything. Her book calls for the restoration of human rights and dignity to the most fragile of our citizens and for music to be used in their care. Published by Two Roads in February 2014.
